Celebrating Black History Month

In the 1970's, the Black Panthers and other activists, including the Young Lords, established a detox facility at Lincoln Hospital in New York to respond to drug addiction issues in their communities. Mutulu Shakur, stepfather to Tupac Shakur, was one of the activists who became an acupuncturist during this time. 
Among many other things, these activists helped established an auricular acupuncture protocol based off of work being done in China, and this protocol is still widely used today. 

We're grateful for this history and all the work that came before us.
